The Evangel Children’s Home (ECH) celebrates its 65th anniversary this summer. As a dedicated supporter and corporate partner for the last 10 years, EJI’s founder, Mr Ricky Lam, along with the Hong Kong team, took part in a virtual fundraising event for the charity as it faced funding challenges throughout the pandemic. EJI, as an established Hong Kong jewellery manufacturer with 30 years of experience, has provided on-the-job training and internships for youths from ECH in the past to help them gain useful and transferable skills from jewellery manufacturing and the fine jewellery industry.
Mr Lam first connected with the charity through HKJMA. An encounter with a student who was under the care of ECH during a school visit motivated him to help and provide opportunities to children from a broken home.
The Evangel Children’s Home was established in 1956 by Ms Ruth Sundquist, an American missionary from the US Evangelical Free Church. For 65 years, ECH actively supports and provides a safe environment for orphans, children and youths from broken families or families in need through three major services: residential home care, day care service and youth home service.
